W2 B1 - Content.

Introduction

Content has been the topic that has run through my blood veins my entire life. Starting with YouTube now 13 years ago, I have always been obsessed with the idea of having my voice and personality put on the big screen for others.

Whether it was gaming, story telling, vlogging, or just a podcast-esque talk show, I've ventured through all of these possibilities and believe I have finally found my calling in content.

Branch 1 - What content does "SERIOUS" and "CAMRY" make?

As of now, CAMRY and SERIOUS operate in and of the same. There has yet to be a need (or frankly, a desire) to separate the two identities. However, while they both center around me, Cameron, they are NOT the same type of content.

"SERIOUS"

"SERIOUS" is my online username, predominantly used for gaming content. "SERIOUS" was a name I adopted 10 years ago, originally beginning as "notsoseri0us". This username was given to be from a random name generator in the game 'EMILY IS AWAY', and has stuck with me since. "SERIOUS" content will be the gaming and at-desk related content. As of writing this blog, we have streamed 4 times on both Twitch and YouTube. Both of these channels are combined as I re-explore the world of livestreaming. I have chased this passion for 9 years on Twitch, and believe I have finally found my niche.

For me, I always dreamed of sitting at a desk, playing video games, and making that my job. For a time, I even played professional VALORANT and COUNTERSTRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE. This was a very successful part of my early digital career, as I loved the concept of being able to show my skills of (which have since fell of, rip.) games that I enjoyed, most predominantly shooter games. This was soon followed by more IRL based streams, having month-long stream marathons that would go uninterrupted, featuring Virtual Reality games (VRChat, Fighting Games, and FNAF: HELP WANTED to name a few). This was the most success to this date I ever saw on streaming. Following the month, I completely gave up on my self and went radio silent. I still regularly think about what could have been if I was more consistent.

This has since been rectified, and I am sticking to the passion and rekindling the spirit in me to continue this content. I have begun investing into equipment, concepting ideas, collabing with peers, and hiring close friends in my circle to help me along this journey.

I will share at the bottom of this page some ideas I have, and I'm so excited to continue it. I am currently working on a HORROR series, playing through games like Five Nights at Freddys, Poppy Playtime, Resident Evil, and more!

"CAMRY"

CAMRY is an identity that is of its own, but also the identity of who I am as a person. An obvious nickname of my name: CAMeron RYdwell. However, Camry allows me to distance my content behind a desk with the content I make in person, such as with our vlog series and future IRL streams. This difference in identity is an easy way to combine yet separate audiences of different kinds.

If you know anything about me, I am incredibly indecisive and constantly thinking of a million things that have nothing to do with one another. In this way, separating SERIOUS and CAMRY allows me to distinguish this to viewers. Not all vlog watchers want to watch me play games behind a desk, and not all desk watchers don't want to watch me explore new cities and figure out my fashion sense.

Thus, for content and personal sake, I have allowed their difference to be apparent. There are times they will overlap, such as future events I dream of hosting some day.

CAMRY is currently in the foundation stage, where I am still figuring out my niche. HOWEVER, I believe I have made a breakthrough in my niche. When discussing with a stranger for our new video "Letting Strangers Make Decisions For Me" (title tbd...), I have found a strong identity in doing tasks and 'dares', if you will, that most people are not willing to do. This includes talking to strangers on the street, going out alone in the wilderness, solo traveling across states/countries, and more. I am currently in the drafting stage, alongside a buddy of mine who will be joining me in this journey of early content creation on the backend (woohoo, thank you!).

CAMRY is not going anywhere, and is still a strong part of who I am. I am currently mixing the camera and cinema-like work with SERIOUS, filming skits and cutscenes for our streams, which has been so much fun! I will also be doing short skits and shows for you guys independently, don't worry.

Branch 2 - What's next?

Next up, is what content should you guys expect coming up.

I have launched our ON TOUR page, which allows you to see all upcoming videos and streams in their own categorized boxes! This is the current most in depth way to stay in the know of our content in one general area.

I am currently working on 2 videos:

In addition to these videos, our streams have been going strong! We currently have a semi-schedule on contents digest that I am figuring out, which I aim to figure out within the next 2 weeks solidly. Stay tuned for that.

Additionally, I want to publicly state my goals in content creation that I aim to hit within a year (inspired by Ludwig's How to Become A Streamer)
